My interview with Katherine Wyvern!

Published May 14, 2018 by Lorraine Nelson - Author

I enjoy interviewing other authors and finding out what makes them tick. Today I have Katherine Wyvern on the hot seat. 🙂 Here goes…

  1. Katherine, what first drew you to writing?

I was a lonely child, and I always had imaginary friends, with whom I would have complicated adventures in my head … writing was the result of that I think. The stories were there, why not write them?

  1. How long have you been writing?

Since I can remember, pretty much. Already in primary school!

  1. Have you always written in the romance genre, or did it take you a while to find your niche?

My first completed short stories, which I wrote in my teens, were mostly fantasy, but they already had elements of romance, and they became more and more sensual…

  1. How would you describe your writing style?

Poetic, for sure. I write a lot of poetry and some of that voice bleeds into my prose giving it a lyric feel. But I also write extremely explicit sex scenes and gritty, naturalistic dialogue.

  1. Who are your favorite romance authors?

Lauren Burka for her short stories MATE and Whip Hand. And Katerina Ross. All that I have read from her is perfect.

  1. What are the primary influences on your writing?

Antonia S. Byatt. Although it’s presumptuous to claim my prose is anything as good as her, there is no doubt her voice colored my “sense” of the English language (which is not my native language). And Patrick O’Brian. His prose is lush, moving, versatile, impishly witty.

  1. What is your writing routine? Please describe a typical writing session for us. What do you do when you sit down to write?

I usually start by rereading, editing and polishing previously written parts. I am a little obsessive that way, but it also helps me to sink back into the rhythm and flow of the story.

  1. What is the most surprising thing about you?

Tough one! I asked my husband, and he says, my 360°, full spectrum creativity. It is true that I am obsessively creative in a number of mediums … fine arts, crafts of all kinds, writing, photography…

  1. What are your writing pet peeves?

Haha! That’s a dangerous question! Explicit sex scenes where the sex cannot even be attempted to be believed (seriously, do not use porn for research!). Flat, humorless prose. And unnaturally scripted, artificial dialogue.

  1. Major milestones in your writing journey so far?

Having my debut novel, Black Carnival, published. And picking up writing again after a major writer block (four long years!), which resulted in my most beautiful lovestory ever, Woman as a Foreign Language.

  1. What are some of your writing tips and tricks? What triggers your story? Do you keep a notepad handy?

I can’t say I have much in the way of tricks or tips … I write in a completely instinctive way. Although I will polish a scene obsessively, the first draft of it must flow compulsively, or not at all. A story or even a single scene, can be triggered by the strangest little things, a dream, an actor or model that catches my fantasy and becomes part of my imaginary world, where stories are always churning… A notepad is a good thing because my poetic vein will sometimes scream out a few lines that must be written, must be written exactly this way, don’t you dare forget them…
But one thing I do try to keep an eye on is that every scene, especially dialogue, plays a role in forwarding the story. Characters chit chat, because real people do, but the chit chat must be sifted very carefully, not to let in any idle lines. And I always make sure that even the most explicit sex scenes contribute to the character’s building, tell us something about their personality and their journey. That is not necessary in Erotica, but in Erotic Romance I believe it is.

  1. What are some of the most important things you have learned as an author?

However well you write, you cannot please everyone. A book that has ten rave reviews will still get slammed by someone. It’s something you have to live with, even if it smarts.

You should not judge a book by its cover, but in fact we all do. A good cover makes a difference. Learn to work with your cover artist.

An editor’s job is to be a polite sort of asshole. Learn to take the criticism constructively, because that’s  what your editor is for. (Love this one!)

Good reviews don’t necessarily mean good sales. Good sales don’t necessarily mean literary quality. You have to be philosophic about it all, or you will go insane.

  1. Writing vs social networking. How do you find the perfect balance? How do you find time to write?

I am not a terribly prolific writer. Once I am in a story it really takes me over, and I will make time for it come hell or high water. The garden goes wild, I stop reading, I forget to eat and drink, and I become mildly (?) crazed. I do set myself a daily word count goal, not so much to “crank out” a given number of words, but to make sure I focus and sit down and write every day, whatever chores might get in the way. But when a story is finished, I need a break before diving into the next one (because a story is very much a love affair with my characters, and I don’t want the next guy to be just the bounce-back guy). That is a good time to be more active on social media. If I were trying to publish a book a month it would not work, but it’s a good balance for me.

14. What is the most important thing you’ve learned, either in writing or publishing, or both?

Don’t leave your day-job yet! It’s very difficult to “make it” as an author.

  1. Any wise words to everyone out there?

Write from your deepest core. Write what you know. Write without filters or reserve. Pour yourself in it.

About Your Current  Release:

  1. What inspired you to write Spice & Vanilla? Spice-vanilla-editor review

It is really a spill-over from my previous release, Woman as a Foreign Language. I really wanted to write about a gender-fluid character because gender-variance is something I can relate to personally and because despite the stigma society puts on it, it has in fact a heartbreaking beauty to it. I am enchanted by anyone who can be gracefully and convincingly gender-fluid, and I wanted to put this wonder into words, but also explore the emotional challenges that go with it.

2. Have you always been interested in transgender romance? If not, what piqued your interest enough to write this novel?

Yes and no. There was a transgender character in my debut novel, Helenay. But she was not really central to the story. However, the curiosity was certainly there. What sparked a more specific interest on the topic was seeing Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl, and discovering some beautiful androgynous models who made me immediately want to write a character with that mixture of male and female traits. Spice & Vanilla in particular was inspired by something that a friend of mine said (about himself), “an angel with a bit of a devil inside”. It made me want to write a story about a character that is constantly on the fence of… anything really. S/he is gender-fluid, bisexual, a truly sweet, kind person with a few dark sides, and a switch to boot!

  1. How long did it take to write?

Beginning to publication, it was almost exactly six months.

  1. What was your inspiration when writing this story?

The main character’s stunning androgynous looks were inspired by a gorgeous German model and actor, Paul Boche. He has a history of gender-queer roles, so I am not the only one who sees that in him! Other aspects of the story, especially in the personality of the other two characters, Di, and Hugh, are partly autobiographical.

  1. What was the greatest challenge when you wrote this novel?

This might sound weird, but, the weather, lol. I live off-grid and the weather last winter was so grey that I often struggled to have enough power to work on my laptop. It was awfully frustrating. From a more writerly point of view, I certainly had a problem keeping Raphael, the main character of the novel, apart from Julian, the main character in my previous release. The first idea for Spice was for it to be a prequel to that book, and when I decided to make it a story about a different character, I had some trouble making him indeed a different person. But finally Raphael took a life of his own, and brought me to unexpected places!

  1. What are you working on right now?

A very difficult story called A Muse to Live For. Difficult because it keeps changing characters’ genders, POV, tense… it’s like trying to nail jelly to a wall! It is a spin-off from Spice & Vanilla, but it’s set in Victorian London, rather than contemporary. It’s the story of a painter who lost his will to live and paint, and the woman (?) who becomes his muse and unleashes his creativity again.

  1. What is it about these characters and their story that appeals to you?

I can relate to the painter’s predicament, because I have been in the doldrums, creatively for a long time since 2013 or so … and then something happened that made it all come back again … a muse’s power is both exhilarating and terrifying. I want to write about that, because there is an immense well of dark, passionate emotion in it.

  1. What can your fans expect to see from you in the near future? More of the same or an entirely different type of story?

Who knows? A Muse to Live For is part of the same loose series as Woman as a Foreign Language and Spice & Vanilla, and at its core it pivots on the same topic. After that, I have no idea. Indeed the muse is all-powerful, but unpredictable!

Thank you so much for the interview, Lorraine, it was wonderful to talk to you! 🙂

Thank you, Katherine, for such a wonderful interview. 🙂

Bio:

I have entered that age when looking at beautiful male models in their prime probably makes me a cougar, ahem. IMG_1234
Almost all my heroines are short: that’s because I look at the world from hobbit level. Being so small I am three times more concentrated (read: obsessive) than anybody I know. I am exhaustingly creative in writing, arts, crafts… Sometimes my brain gets friction burns from hurtling at such speed from one universe to the next.
I love animals, plants, and occasionally even people.
Like Highlander, I come from a lot of different places. I was born in Italy but lived here and there and consider myself simply and deeply European. I love Europe passionately, its antiquity, its diversity, its quirkiness. All my books are set in Europe, or alternate versions of it!
I have been writing since I can remember. The first word I ever wrote was not my name but “lupi”, that is the Italian for “wolves”.

I hope you have enjoyed Katherine’s story. Stay tuned for more of the same as I introduce other authors in future. In the meantime…Happy Writing!

Blurb:
They fight to protect those who would never welcome them into the human world…
Petúr always knew he and his brothers-in-arms were different. Something more. Something not human. Yet, he never expected to find out the truth of their origins, nor fall for a human woman whose father was set to destroy Neverland.
Ever since she was a child, Wyndi dreamed of an angel with eyes of the purest gold, although she never really believed such a man existed until she met the hauntingly beautiful Petúr of the lost boys.
With a prophecy to fulfill, a woman to protect, a portal to find, and evil darklings out for blood, will Petúr be strong enough to rise up and claim what’s rightfully his, or lose everything to a long-time nemesis, Grapple the Dark?

Excerpt:
“Ma’am?”
Her long lashes fluttered, causing spiky shadows to stipple the tops of her cheeks. “I forgot my laptop. I need to get it from my office,” she said. “That’s where I was going when I got mugged.”
“Here you go,” said Dash. He’d gathered up the woman’s things and tucked them back into her purse. “I don’t think he got anything.” He handed the tan bag over to her. “I think we interrupted the mugger. Petúr tried to catch him, but he got away.”
“Thank you,” she said, taking her scuffed-up purse.
“It’s a good thing we were walking past this alley,” said Vibe. “We heard you scream and—”
“Yes,” she said in a robotic voice, nodding. “You scared off the mugger.” She was looking at Petúr in that unseeing, vacant way, the pupils in her eyes large and pulsing.
He inclined his head. “Here,” he said. “Let me help you up.” He gave her his hand. She took hold, and he couldn’t stop himself from noticing the petal softness of her skin. After she was steady on her feet, he thought to introduce himself. No need to be uncivilized. “I’m Petúr.” He pointed to his right. “That’s Vibe.” Vibe gave her a two finger salute. Petúr tilted his head to his left. “And that’s Dash.”
“I’m Wyndi,” she said, her voice becoming less animated. “Wyndi Darlingheart.”
“Of Darlingheart Incorporated?” Petúr asked.
She brushed a few strands of hair from her face. “In a roundabout way.”
What did that mean?
“Roundabout?” Dash asked the question he himself was dying to know.
She glanced at Dash and kept her gaze trained on him for a long moment. A too long moment. Something hot and possessive twisted in Petúr’s gut. He wanted to reach out and turn her pointed little chin back in his direction, away from the other warrior.
“Cromwell Darlingheart is my father,” she said.
That piece of information got the muscle in Petúr’s jaw to working and quickly stamped out the unusual possessiveness he’d been experiencing.
“Father?” he asked, needing the confirmation one more time.
She nodded and looked up. Her sky-blue gaze went to his mouth then flitted up to his eyes, locking with him. She gasped.
“What?”
The woman welded her beautiful eyes shut and muttered, “Nothing.”
Could she be afraid of him? No. He didn’t think it was fear he saw swimming in the depths of those liquid blue pools. More like realization of him, mixed with feminine lust.
His golden gaze meandered over her, catching on her cleavage a moment, before moving on to the shape of her hips. Curvaceous. He cleared his throat. Her long lashes fluttered open. Unable to help himself, he was staring at her spectacular face once again. She worked her bottom lip over with her teeth.
She was an oddly captivating, deliciously sweet smelling, eye sparkling female with a mouth he wanted to taste. Taste? Really? He mulled that over for a moment. Yes. He wanted… No. What he was experiencing was more than mere want. He needed to taste her. All of her, he realized taken aback.
He’d been with numerous women before in a quick, rough coupling just to satisfy his animalistic desires, however he was having thoughts he’d never had. Animalistic, yes, but….
He studied her, the arch of her brows, the way strands of her hair framed her face. How delicate she was compared to him. Wyndi Darlinghart. He allowed her name—the daughter of the rich scum-sucking asshole who’d purchased Neverland, intent on clearing the land, as well as him and the lost boys out of their home—to simmer.
Her sweet cotton candy scent assaulted his nose once more. His dick stirred beneath the leather of his D-ring jeans. Would she melt in his mouth like the candy would? His brow furrowed. What was wrong with him? He took in another deep breath, allowing her bouquet to linger. Maybe the ache would go away if he just tasted those full lips. No. He shook his head in an attempt to shake away the urge.
Seconds ticked by. Damn it. He couldn’t shake off what he was feeling. His eyes narrowed. Of all the women in the world, why did it have to be this woman he seriously wanted to thoroughly enjoy in a slow, lingering manner?
Because fate is a cruel bitch. That’s why.
“She’s a Darlingheart,” he heard Vibe say.
No. Not say, but project inside his head.
“Right,” he mumbled, but when Wyndi’s eyelids fluttered open, and she locked gazes with him once more, all the hardened steel he’d erected around himself, as well his common sense, fell away.
Crazy though it might well be, Petúr found himself, for the first time in his long life, wishing for more. More time with her. He wanted to talk, and touch, and kiss. Shit. He wanted to kiss her so bad he physically hurt.
He broke the eye contact this time, and turned away. Who was he kidding? He might want more than fast, anonymous, no strings attached sex, but he wasn’t a choirboy either. For what he had in mind, there would be strings. Maybe even ropes.
“We’ll walk you to your office,” Petúr said, unwilling to let her out of his sight, as he tried to tell himself the over-protectiveness was necessary, even though darklings never attacked the same person twice.
“Um…” Wyndi muttered.
He watched her out of the corner of his eye. “That’s where you said you were headed, right?”
“Yes.” She straightened her shoulders and took the lead.
Petúr homed in on the sway of those hips as she walked in front of him. Oh yeah. He might want more. More than he’d ever given or received from any other woman, yet he also wanted to strip this little human, go to his knees, and map her feminine folds with his mouth, listening to her call out his name in a breathy entreaty as he tasted her pleasure upon his tongue.

Spotlight on Rebecca Brochu!!!

Published July 17, 2012 by Lorraine Nelson - Author

Please welcome Rebecca Brochu as we help her celebrate the release of:

Love in the Land of Fire.

BLURB:

In a world where one is either the ruler or the ruled Enforcer Josiah Marx, a dominate who’s almost given up on finding a partner, takes a case and finds himself drawn to Rafe Zweil, a submissive with a complicated past.  Can the two overcome all the obstacles that stand before them and between them to find love in the Land of Fire?

EXCERPT:

“Shit!”  Josiah immediately holsters his gun, wraps one hand around Rafe’s shoulder and spins him around until they’re face to face.  Anger flares through him, anger at himself for not recognizing the other male sooner, anger at Rafe for not being where he was supposed to be in the first place.  It all comes spilling out of him before he can think twice about it.

“What in the fuck were you doing?  What in the hell possessed you to leave the apartment?  I’ve seen your test scores, Zweil, so you’ve got no excuse for acting like a fucking idiot!”

Josiah shakes Rafe hard once before letting go of the submissive as if burned.  Raking a hand through his blond hair he stalks towards the nearest switch and turns the dial all the way up until the apartment is flooded with light.  In the now bright room he can see Rafe’s face clearly, can see an anger that matches his own rising up in the man, which is at odds with the mostly meek behavior he’s shown to Josiah since they’ve been together.

“I wasn’t aware that I was a prisoner, Marx, or that you’re apparently my warden.  Although I suppose that was a foolish assumption to make.  After all a cage is still a cage even if the bars are pretty this time around.”

“Damn it all to hell, Rafe, that’s not what I meant and you fucking know it!”

“Are you sure about that, Josiah?  Do you really not want to keep me locked away, hidden from the outside world like every-fucking-body else seems to?”

Josiah has no control over himself as he lunges forward, buries one hand in Rafe’s silky hair and yanks the submissive forward.  Their lips meet harshly, all teeth and no finesse and Josiah runs his tongue roughly along the seam of Rafe’s mouth, a pleased growl rumbling in his chest when the he opens for him.  Josiah sweeps inside, his tongue tangling hotly with Rafe’s even as he begins to crowd the submissive against the nearest wall.

They fit together perfectly, the long lean plains of Rafe’s body slotting into the more thickly muscled valleys of Josiah’s as if they’d been carved from the same single piece of stone, broken and divided and only now reunited.  Josiah groans low in his throat at the feel of Rafe pressed against him and his cock hardens instantly at the combined sensations of touch and taste.  Rafe echoes his groan and the sound of pleasure from the submissive doubles Josiah’s arousal, making him helpless to do anything but press closer, driving their bodies together and Rafe further against the wall.

Their tongues slide against and around each other, spit slick and eager to taste, to consume one another.  Josiah knew it would be like this, knew it would be perfect and all-consuming the moment he laid eyes on Rafe.  His hand loosens its tight grip in Rafe’s hair and slides slowly through the cool, thick locks to curl firmly around the back of the submissive’s neck, unable to control the impulse to completely dominate the other male.  Rafe breaks the kiss, gasping for air and moaning openly as his head tips back, pressing deeper into the grip on his neck and exposing his throat and collar to Josiah’s hungry gaze.

It’s an instinctual move, the desire to show off for a dominant, the urge to entice a fitting and worthy partner with his unclaimed status, and the sight of it has Josiah practically snarling in victory.  Rafe wants him as well, wants to be claimed on some level as much as Josiah wants to be the one doing the claiming.  If he didn’t, if their desires didn’t match to some degree, Rafe would not respond so beautifully, would not be showing off his collar and trying to entice Josiah into claiming him.

His hand tightens slightly, as his head dips down until he can taste Rafe’s neck, can rack teeth and tongue across the tempting expanse, and suck tiny bruises into the vulnerable skin.  He runs his tongue across the smooth surface of the collar, tongue flirting with the inlaid rubies and dragging lightly across the sensitive area where silver meets skin.  Rafe bucks against him and Josiah tightens his hand in reprimand, pleased and aroused when he can actually feel Rafe’s knees weaken at the silent command even as the submissive obeys and stills.

Josiah pulls himself away from the mesmerizing taste and feel of Rafe, dragging his lips and tongue up across the exposed side of his neck so that he can whisper hotly in the submissive’s ear.

“Such a good boy, Rafe, such a sweet, beautiful boy.  You were made to be ruled, made for me to own.”

He claims Rafe’s mouth in another searing kiss, reveling in the breathless gasp and shaky moan it prompts.

“You’ll be so pretty for me, won’t you?  So sweet and delicious when I have you begging, wanting what only I can give you.  I can’t wait to have you bare and spread open before me.”

Rafe shudders, a full body tremor that Josiah can feel perfectly, and it goes straight to his cock.  He urges Rafe’s arms above his head with his free hand before grasping them both tightly and pinning them back against the wall.  He feels Rafe go still against him, the tiny, almost unnoticed rocking of his hips stopping abruptly, but it doesn’t really register with him, doesn’t penetrate the fog of lust and need that’s slowly taking him over.

“P-Please, Josiah.”

The plea comes out quietly, almost too quietly, and when Josiah hears it he takes it as a plea for more, more touch, more sensation.  Just more.  So he rocks his body against Rafe’s again as he mouths at the sensitive skin behind his ear.  He loves the feel of his cock rubbing against the submissive’s, even muted as it is by the multiple layers of leather and cloth.  It’s a heady feeling, something he wants more of even though it’s enough to drive him mad.  He wants Rafe bare, wants to feel all of that silky skin against his own as he takes the other man down and apart.

“Oh the things I’ll make you do.  I’ll make you love me and what I can give you.”

Spotlight on Adonis Devereux!

Published July 16, 2012 by Lorraine Nelson - Author

Today’s spotlight is on the husband/wife team of Adonis Devereux. Welcome! Take it away!

Thanks for having us today! Hi, we’re the husband-wife writing team of Adonis Devereux. You know what’s different about us? I’m sure you’re all aware of how it’s trendy for romance novels to have both the heroine’s and the hero’s points of view. Well, since we’re a husband-wife writing team, we have the advantage of the right writer writing the right gender. The Mr. writes the chapters with the hero’s POV, and the Mrs. writes the heroine’s!

We’d like to introduce today our fifth erotic romance novel set in the fantasy world of Gilalion, a place where anything is possible, especially love against all odds. The Soldier’s Lotus explores themes of slavery, revenge, and unexpected love between a white woman and a black man. Saerileth, the heroine, comes from a small island nation dependent on the larger and more powerful nation on the mainland. When she meets Darien, the large, sex-god navy captain, she remembers him from her past, though he does not recognize her.

If you haven’t fallen into our world yet, now’s your chance. And don’t forget to check out our backlist, all titles coming from this erotic, fantastic world.

Comment below for a chance to win not only a free copy of The Soldier’s Lotus but also the map that accompanies the novel!

Don’t forget to “like” our Facebook Author Page for access to exclusive content including maps and recipes. Happy reading!

And now for their latest release…The Soldier’s Lotus.

Blurb

One death. Saerileth had trained all her life for one death. From the time her clan had been massacred when she was five years old, until now, thirteen years later, Saerileth has sought one death. Now that she has attained the rank of full-blown Lotus, she has been sent by the Red Lotus guild to the foreign city of Arinport. But Saerileth has other plans, and the one death she seeks is more to her than the guild’s plans for her. Saerileth’s plans go awry, however, when she meets Darien, the brave soldier from her past, whom she had never expected to see again.

Darien alters everything, simply by being there, and Saerileth is swept up into a world of intrigue and assassination that makes seeking her one death even harder. But her mission of vengeance is difficult to reconcile with being the soldier’s Lotus, and in the end, Saerileth’s choice will affect three nations.

Be Warned: multiple partners, ménage sex, anal sex, m/m sex, spanking, erotic asphyxiation.

Excerpt

“I must enter you now,” Darien said, and Saerileth’s eyes widened.

“Why?”

“To prevent my crew from taking you themselves and dividing you as common spoil.”

“Can you not just order them not to?”

Darien shook his head. “They found you. If I renounce salvage rights to you, they can claim them. The only way to put you utterly beyond their power is to make you my legal concubine.”

“Then why do you not just tell them I am?” Saerileth shifted on the divan and crossed her ankles.

Darien glanced back at Kamen who stood in front of the door and looked straight ahead, bending his concentration on the invisible air. He did not make eye contact with Darien. Something serious ate at him, something that had started the moment Saerileth came aboard.

“I tried that once,” Darien said, returning his attention to the girl he knew he must couple with. “There was no contract, no witness. I didn’t want to take the girl against her will, so I faked it. We Sunjaa are the People of the Word, as you probably know. If it isn’t written down and witnessed, it didn’t happen.” Darien did not enjoy talking about this, but he wanted Saerileth to understand. “Well, my crew went ahead and raped her anyway, and I wasn’t able to do anything about it. She was their salvage, and I had failed her.”

Saerileth stood and let her pallav fall. Darien drew in a long, deep breath. Her beauty was divine, every line and curve perfect. “Your pain is fresh, as if this happened yesterday. You are a man of deep feeling.” And she laid her hand on the bare part of his chest that lay exposed from his loose shirt.

Her flesh was still cold from the seawater, but her touch was like fire on his skin, sending hunger through him. “I will take you, then.” It was half statement, half question. He laid his hands on her shoulders, feeling her delicate frame beneath his strong, soldierly hands.

All Saerileth did was look up at him through her long, black eyelashes and nod. That sent Darien over the edge. He picked her up and kissed her mouth, tasting her lips as if they were fruit. She was half his size, and he easily wrapped his arms around her back, bringing his hands to her opposite sides. She threw her arms around his neck as she kissed him back with equal fervor. Her legs were wrapped around his waist, and due to their size difference, she was practically perched on his massive, muscular frame. To Darien, she was no weight at all. He had carried heavier sacks of grain.

Saerileth unwrapped her pallav from her left forearm and tossed it away. With both hands free, she ran her fingers across Darien’s close-cropped hair. Between kisses, Darien could catch glimpses of her body. Under the pallav, she wore a short shirt that left her midriff bare, and the skirt she wore, though tight, accommodated a wide range of movement. The material was elastic enough to allow her legs free reign.

Darien laid Saerileth down on the divan and lay on top of her, though he rested most of his weight on his forearms and one knee that wedged itself between the cushions. So much for the pristine state of the divan! But to Darien, this moment made his saving it worth it. He wanted to be rough with Saerileth, but this was her first time with him, so he promised himself he would be gentle. By the way she ground against him and the way she deep-kissed, Darien guessed she was skilled in sex, but he could not know whether she had ever taken a man of his size inside her before. Considering she was dressed as if she had just come from the Dimadan, he guessed she had not. The Sunjaa were better endowed than the Zenji, and Darien was better endowed than any other Sunjaa he knew. And he had seen a lot of cocks in his day.

Saerileth blindly yanked at his breeches, and he blindly yanked at the shirt that hugged her breasts. They could not stop even for a moment to look at what they were doing; he needed more of her kisses. He did not want to miss one taste. He was greedy for this beautiful, pale stranger, and her clear desire for him only served to make him abandon all reason. His growl slipped past her tongue, and she responded by sucking on his bottom lip. His cock swelled, and he was obliged to reach down and loosen the strings so that his cock might burst free. When it did, it slapped against Saerileth’s belly with such a smack that she gasped and pulled away from Darien. Her eyes searched his in wonderment, as if she had discovered hidden treasure. She gazed into his eyes as her hand found his cock. Once she touched it, she smiled at Darien, let slip a light laugh, and fell to kissing him again.

Review – Atticus for the Undead by John Abramowitz

Published February 4, 2012 by Lorraine Nelson - Author

Tonight I had the pleasure of reading a new author and I must say, I’m impressed. I enjoy legal thrillers…John Grisham being one of my favorite authors. Paranormal, not so much, but this book is a splendid mix of the two.

When John sent me this book to review he brazenly stated, “I’m fairly confident that if you start this one, you won’t be able to stop. :)” I thought, okay, we’ll see. Well, I’m happy to say he was absolutely right! I received it at one o’clock this morning, intending to read it tomorrow. Yeah, right! It is now five-twenty in the morning and I just finished it. Yes, it was that good.

Hunter Gamble is a lawyer who makes a living from defending arcanes—paranormals, who are allowed to co-exist with humans in his world. And he’s very good at it.

Samuel Pollard is a zombie accused of murder and he hires Hunter to defend him. So begins a fast-paced, haunting tale of unforgettable drama—one you won’t want to put down.

John Abramowitz has written a futuristic version of legal thriller mixed with paranormal. This novel is one of the best I’ve read in years. It’s looking like Mr. Abramowitz has a brilliant writing career ahead of him.

Thank you, John, for allowing me to read and review your work.

Atticus for the Undead can be purchased at Amazon.
